INFUSE YOUR ESSENCE – KNOW YOUR PURPOSE
This article is part of a series exploring Vita’s 7 Pillars. Today’s theme reflects Pillar 6: INFUSE YOUR ESSENCE – Know Your Purpose. You can read about Pillar 5:INFUSE YOUR TRIBE – Positive Tribe here.
I remember living a life that appeared perfect on the outside: married, fantastic career, a sweet baby boy. On the inside though I felt empty, angry, and filled with questions: is this it or is there more to my life? If I die today, did my life matter, did I make an impact, will people remember me and what would they remember? What is my legacy?
Feeling empty and unfulfilled contributed to me being deeply sad, angry at times, and frankly sick suffering from chronic back pain, skin diseases, and depression. I found I was living a life feeling empty without a voice or a sense of any purpose. I felt I was living a life that others wanted me to live. All I knew was soothing myself with a glass of wine, a cookie, or shopping.
I felt I could no longer live in this emptiness, constant fear of what others might think, and decided to embrace transformation.
My awakening from a life filled with fear, shyness, and limitation began by becoming a yoga instructor; the first step into my next chapter towards growth and healing. I left my toxic marriage and began to focus on myself and on what I want. I quickly fell in love with meditation, which deepened greatly after I became Reiki Master and found my own unique way to inner peace and wholeness. I completed other leadership trainings which helped me to be clear on my passion for coaching and being a leader for the community. You can learn more about my story and history on the About Me page.
This transformation encouraged me to pursue my passion for helping others, and I studied Life Coaching and Health Coaching. Combining all the healing components and energy work, I was able to create a powerful and impactful life, health, and passion-driven career.
Action: Today, I invite you to claim your life’s purpose, even if you don’t know what it is yet.
Each soul has come to earth with a mission to make an impact on this planet, and yours is no exception. If you don’t know what your mission is yet, simply accept that you have a purpose. Bring focus to the gift that you can give right now. Whom can you help and how can you serve humanity. Don’t focus on what you don’t know yet or what haven’t mastered yet. Let go of the concern to look good and be perfect and give your passion a voice.
“You are here for a special mission. There is a purpose of your life. Find that purpose of your life, work on it and live your life happily.” Raaz Ojha
Explore Your Mission
Knowing why you are on earth is the most incredible and valuable step towards living a meaningful and fulfilled life. If you don’t wake up feeling excited about what you do and how you live, it’s time to ask yourself a few questions, such as:
- What gives you a sense of purpose?
- What keeps you up at night?
- Why do you do what you do?
- What drives you to get your message and work out there in a bigger way?
- Can you do what you’re doing right now in 5/10 years? Are you passionate about it?
- What do other people ask you for help with?
- Why are you different than anybody else?
- What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
- What makes you forget to eat lunch?
- If you had a year to live, what would you do?
- What did you love to do when you were 10 years old?
- What would you regret not doing in life?
- What are you naturally good at doing?
- What are the challenges you’ve overcome?
- What causes do you strongly believe in?
- If you could get just one message across to a larger group of people, what would you say?
- How are you going to save the world?
- What do you want to be known for?
- Who inspires you most?
- What makes you smile?
- What makes you angry?
Action: Pick one or two of the above questions and journal about it. Open yourself up fully to explore the topic and how it makes you feel.
“Those who are certain of the outcome can effort to wait and wait without anxiety” Course of miracles
Trust In The Outcome. Always.
Nothing outside me matters, because nothing outside me has the power to take away the love and the peace within me. If I am impatient, it is because I am afraid, and if I’m afraid it’s because I do not trust.
Sometimes just the act of getting our minds out of the obsessive mode of trying to figure out what to do about our own life does the trick. Many great inventors and artists have found that the inspiration they need to get to the next level in their work comes not when they’re working, but when they’re walking around the block or doing dishes. When they’re simply living life.
When you love what you do, work and play become one and you’re naturally more motivated, creative, productive, and “in the flow” which are all the necessary elements of creating abundance. This translates to you not just making a living, but designing and making a life.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style.” Maya Angelou
How much power have you given away in life by playing small, and lowering your worth? What areas in your life have you made decisions based on victimhood, doubt, and lack?
As I became more aware of my own voice, I also grew more confident and independent. I started to set more boundaries. One of them was to put myself first and remember that I am important. I have more freedom and time for self-care. I let go of other narcissistic and manipulative people in my life and I’m not afraid to stand up for myself. I’m choosing being honest and real over pleasing everyone around me. Most importantly though I’m healthy now, waking up filled with vitality and motivation that you only get when you live your very essence.
Your life is yours to create, own your power, and bring your dreams closer to reality.
Mantra: My gifts and talents are expressions of my soul and have profound impact on all around me.
